The word ‘holistic’ comes from the Greek word ‘holos’ meaning whole. A holistic massage – or any holistic treatment – is specifically tailored to each client, taking into account their emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as their physical body; treating the ‘whole’ client.
As a holistic practitioner I use a wide range of massage techniques, including light touch, stretching, trigger points and deep tissue. These can be used in isolation or, more usually, in combination, but are always determined by a client’s particular needs.
Due to the way that I work, every treatment is unique but I am always working ‘with’ the client rather than just giving a massage ‘to’ them.
All my work is based on holistic principles so your session may very well involve a combination of techniques, but specific massages available include:
If you are feeling the need for a little time out, this massage could be just what you are looking for. With the focus on relaxation, this tailor made treatment will help you to gently drift back to your self, leaving you with a renewed sense of calm.
Deep tissue massage
A deeper massage with a focus on relieving muscular aches and pains and persistent tension, often incorporating trigger point therapy.
Using a bespoke blend of essential oils to compliment your chosen massage can help to ease tight muscles, balance or lift your mood and support your general well-being.
Hot stone massage
Heated basalt stones are used as an aid to deep relaxation or, when used in conjunction with deep tissue techniques, can help to increase the relief of tired, aching muscles.
Perfect for creating a little time to chill whilst you are busy growing baby or, with more focused work, to ease some of those pregnancy aches and discomfort.
